What is Ikebana?

The Japanese Art of Flower arrangement has been practiced for more than 600 years. Patterns and styles of Ikebana evolved and the number of schools expanded in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is a disciplined and living art form where nature and humanity are brought together. Nature is ever changing, it has its own rhythms and order. The greatest creations in the field were made by highly skilled experts, even Samurai. Now there are equal opportunities for both men and women to practice ikebana. Many pracitioners of Ikebana feel that the spiritual aspect of Ikebana is very important. One becomes quiet practicing Ikebana. It helps you to live in the moment and appreciate the things in nature that previously had seemed insignificant. One becme more patient and tolerant of differences, not only in nature, but more generally in other people. Ikebana can inspire you to idenify with beauty in all art forms and always expect the best in yourself.
